After each Vault reward

The Vault is MTG Arena’s wildcard progress bar, a meter that fills as you open packs and, once full, guarantees a Wildcard of your choice regardless of what you actually pulled. It exists so a run of unlucky pack openings still eventually rewards you with the exact card you need.

Why the Vault Matters for Crafting

It’s a safety net against variance. If packs keep giving you wildcards you don’t need, the Vault guarantees you’ll eventually get to pick the one that actually fits your deck.

Planning Around Vault Progress

If your Vault meter is close to full, it’s often worth holding off on crafting the card you need with regular wildcards and waiting for the guaranteed pick instead.

Strategic tip

Check your Vault progress before spending a Rare wildcard on a card you’re on the fence about. If you’re close to a full Vault, save the guaranteed pick for the card you actually want most.
