Cube (or Cube Draft) is a Limited format built around a hand-picked pool of powerful, synergistic cards assembled by a designer rather than a random booster set, so every pack you open is stacked with playables. On MTG Arena, Cube shows up as a rotating limited-time event using the Arena Cube, a curated card list that gets refreshed periodically to keep the format fresh.

Unlike drafting a normal set, where commons and filler make up most of your picks, Cube packs are dense with bombs, efficient removal, and build-around synergies, which makes every pick genuinely difficult.

How Arena Cube Differs From Set Draft

In set draft you’re often forced into whatever archetype the packs give you. In Cube, nearly every card is strong enough to play, so deckbuilding comes down to reading signals and staying open rather than fighting over scraps.

Drafting a Winning Cube Deck

Pick Bomb-level cards early, then commit to two colours once the signals are clear. Curve matters more than usual here, since Cube games often come down to who develops their board first.

Strategic tip

Arena Cube events run for a limited window and often carry solid rewards for wins. Treat your first draft of each run as scouting: note which colour pairs feel open before locking in a strategy for the rest of the event.
